{mosimage}The 80th anniversary of Allamano celebrated on the 18th February, saw a great gathering of not less that 300 youth all from Nairobi, sing, dance and pray. The feast brought together the Consolata family – the sisters, brothers, fathers, students and lay people (youths). The Missionary Animation and Vocation Promotion offices of the Consolata Missionaries and Sisters was also invited and this helped in making the day a success.
The entertainments were also graced by an African Artist, Valerian Atieno, who presented one of her greatest hits “African Queen”. Valerian is a fine artist based in Nairobi.
Today’s feast challenged those present to be alive with Christ. To love Allamano as a father and to imitate him as a model of Christian living thus cherishing the virtues of sincerity, simplicity and piety. At the end of all the talks was the competition that made each group/parish produce the best of its talent. The competition revolved around the missionary life of striving for holiness of life by imitating Christ, evangelizing people by presenting to them Christ and finally helping people improve their lives and environment.
The celebration of the Eucharist by Father Murage Stephen, imc crowned the Allamano Youth Day.
