Fr. Cellana, the superior of the biggest and oldest Consolata region in Africa, was chosen to lead the Eucharistic celebration. After the Gospel he addressed the whole community and invited each superior to share the main challenges and priorities of our missionary presence and ministry in each country: Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa, Congo, Ivory Coast and Kenya. What came out was a wide range of situations where the Consolata missionaries proclaim Jesus Christ as God’s Good News to everyone, and portray His presence and passion for the well being of His people.
“I was told that Jesus would come here today” said fr. Matthew Opiyo, the continental Councillor as he concluded the sharing of the Word; and he added: “do we notice His presence? How do we allow Him to touch our lives?”
The family gathering continued round the refectory tables, enriched also with the birthday celebration of one seminarian and the presence of community benefactors.
