Since I am far away from my parents and my family I thought this would be a difficult thing for me, but instead it was much better because The Consolata Missionaries (Formators and Students) showed me how much they Love me, they were always with me and they were there most of the times. I really found myself in a new home, with my new family. Since to be a missionary means to leave your own family and follow Jesus, it is not a bad thing it is a call to Holiness as St. Paul says (2 Tim 1:9) Holiness is all about showing Love in our daily duties, in all the people we meet and even in our enemies.
I am grateful to God with my new family that is helping me each and everyday to answer to this call to holiness. Our founder Blessed Joseph Allamano was always emphasizing to the family spirit, The Consolata Missionaries show Love and Holiness to people, they also live their communion on an attitude that Allamano used to call <family spirit>: “Our institute is not a college, not even a seminary but a family. You must live together & prepare your selves in order to work together all your life.” (SL 340) In conclusion I would like to invite everyone to plant this spirit that our Founder was encouraging to his missionaries the family spirit. This is Love, this is the call to Holiness, we are all called to love and to participate in Holiness.
Super omnia caritatem habete – In spite of all the difficulties, work, hard time, sufferings, joys, sorrows and happiness
